"Done, she says," the King repeated with an amused smile. Gently letting go of the Queen, Agdar took the spoon up again, "Elsa, let’s eat a little more."

As the King brought some more food to her mouth, the toddler turned her face away. “No!” she announced, “No more.” There was still clearly more, but Elsa still said such words, emulating the adults when there was no more treats for her.

The father sighed. “There’s still more, love. One more spoonful?”

“No,” Elsa repeated, the start of a smile on her face as it became a game. “No more, Papa. Done.”

The Queen sat back as the battle began. Hands resting lightly on her stomach, she watched as her child seemed to enjoy her argument with the King. A light giggle escaped the little girl as she sucked her lips in to keep her father from getting any food inside.

Idun did worry Elsa didn’t eat enough. She didn’t need rumours of having a sickly child, not when her daughter was already so small. She had all the pudginess of being a toddler, but was little for her age, according to Dr Pål anyway.

“Well, if she can’t fit any more in her tummy, I guess she won’t want any dessert,” she commented, pretending to talk to Agdar, but making sure Elsa could hear.
